Taskbar Is slow to appear

All applications on my desktop appear slow and my taskbar
at the bottom of my windows does not appear for about 10
minutes I am unable to use any quick launch keys due to
my taskbar not appearing...Does anyone have any solutions
on how to tweak XP or restore settings so that the
applications work properly. Please advise!

I believe this is a feature within XP...

You can try opening the task manager (CTRL-SHIFT-ESC) to see what the heck's
going on, and try running msconfig to manage your system's startup..

If you can't get that far, boot up in safe mode and then figure out what
it's doing on startup. Also, scan for virii, run adaware or spybot search
and destroy just in case... AVG Anti-virus is free and trendmicro has a
free online scan.
