Taskbar Icon changing form each day

I am on XP Pro and have noted that each day when I turn boot up, the icons on
my task bar (left hand side next to the Start button) change. The programs
are the same (Explorer, Outlook and Media Player), but the assigned pictures
of these programs change each day.

Has anyone had this happen, and is there a way to keep the icons from
changing daily?

Hi Matthew,
This shouldn't happen on a healthy system. Check that you
have Antivirus software and anti-spyware installed and up-to-date. Do
regular checks for hard drive problems, perform regular defragmentation of
your hard drive. Sometimes the icon cache can become corrupted for one
reason or another. There are a few free tools that can delete a corrupted
icon cache, Tweak UI from Microsoft has one such tool and a host of other
settings. You can download it for free at:
