Taskbar gets stuck.

I have my taskbar set to autohide. Lately, and intermittently, it's getting
stuck and will not hide. However, it's hiding the bottoms of my open
windows. I can go into properties when it does this and get it to hide by
changing the properties and then changing them back again. But when I go to
the taskbar again, it gets restuck. Restarting windows is the only way I've
found to correct this. Is there another way?

Hi,

Intermittent taskbar issues can often be resolved by deleting the
stuckrects2 value in the registry. Run regedit from the start/search line,
expand the branches and click on this one:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\StuckRects2

Delete the stuckrects2 key from the left pane, then close the registry
editor and reboot.

I did as you suggested and the problem returned. I've since done as you
suggested again. I'm currently waiting to see if it happens again.

Hi,

If it continues to return, then you have some software interfering with the
Windows shell. The only way to resolve it is with clean boot troubleshooting
(meaning to start removing software from the startup axis). Things like the
google desktop are known to cause these types of interferences.
