Taskbar folly

Hello,
I double sized the taskbar on the bottom of my desktop. Can't get it back
to one level. Did this before but don't remember what I did to get it back.
Please help . I know it's simple if you know how.

Place the mouse pointer at top edge, watch it change to resize arrow,
Hold left button down and drag to size you like.

If you have toolbars on the task bar on multiple lines, you won't be
able to reduce the task bar size to fewer than that number of lines.
Put all the toolbars on one line first.

How do I get the toolbars onto one line?

And another question, the active icons on my other computer are about half
size and stacked in two horizontal rows. How can I make them full size on one
row again?
