Taskbar completely messed up

From bad to worse. Is there a way to return to default
taskbar settings?

Latest horror is that when I expand the size of my
toolbar it will not let me resize it smaller -- to a 1
line row. I had expanded it to 4 lines. It would not
revert. Then I expanded it to about 8 lines. It takes
up half my screen. The only way I can see the screen is
to auto-hide it.

Previously, my program buttons were all stacked on the
right of my taskbar, and I had to click through the up-
down arrows to see what was running. There is no grabber-
thingy to expand the "open programs" tab. The only way
to see them all is to close the QuickLaunch and Desktop
toolbars.

Something is very messed up. I have run Norton
WinDoctor, all's well.

This is in my main user profile in XP. In another
profile the taskbar is fine. How do I fix it in my main
profile?

To reply by email, remove the bit after the dash. Thanks
for any help you can give.

you must UNLOCK the taskbar first before you can move it.
right click and uncheck LOCK THE TASKBAR

DUH Bill, please don't shout when you haven't read the
message carefully. How could I increase the size of the
taskbar if it was locked? That solution was one of the
first I tried.

After hours of research and tinkering, the only thing
that worked was this swell little program, well worth the
$5 donation I paid after it worked.
