Task Scheduler WIll Not Run

Based on the log, my task scheduler stopped running on
August 3 (before the SP2 update was installed). When
I try to start it (scheduled taskes>advanced>start using
service I get "unable to start service". I can't find any
knowledge base article that seems to apply to this situation
Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Jim

From Start>Run type

services.msc

Scroll down the list and see if you can start the Task Scheduler Service by
right clicking on it.
 
Thank you very much. Have been going down dead ends because all the
tasks that would not run were in Norton Systemworks and was dealing
with the problem as a Symantec problem.

It was set to disabled, is now set to automatic, and all seems to be
well.
