Ok, I deleted a bunch of entries in the registry because
I found a virus on my computer. Apparently I deleted one
I shouldn't because everytime I start the task manager it
closes within 2 seconds. If anyone can give me info on
how to fix this at all I'd appreciate it. I have windows
XP (Home) by the way. If you're going to tell me to do a
clean install of windows, don't bother. I'd rather live
with not having a task manager than reinstall 50 gigs
worth of applications.

You still have a virus. See www.dougknox.com, Win XP Utilities, Create
Emergency Copies of Critical XP System Utilities. This small VB Program
will create backup, usable copies of Task Manger, Regedit and MSConfig
(named Taskmgr1.exe, Regedit.com and MSConfig1.exe) in a new folder
C:\EmergencyUtil. Many virus programs will intercept these programs, based
on their original file name. The modified file names, allow them to be run.
Open Windows Explorer to C:\EmergencyUtil and double click the application
you need. The next revision will allow you to browse for the folder you
want to place the backups in.
