Task Manager - CPU / memory

After I shuut down an application, it remains "in memory"
and is listed on the Task Manager list in the "process"
tab. For example, if I open and close MS-Outlook 3 times,
it will appear on the list 3 times. The CPU usage remains
at 100% constantly.

Any suggestions?
