When I try to use the task mgr (bu right clicking on task
bar or cntrl+alt+delete) The CPU Usage windo opens
instead. What gives?

The CPU usage is built into the task manager. Click one
of the other tabs to see the other views. it will
remember which tab you had last seen everytime you open
it.

Open task manager and double click anywhere on the border of the window.
Should restore TM to normal.

Good luck,

I suspect you might have only the CPU usage pane? If so, double-click on
the border of that window. That toggles it between single-pane and tabbed
mode.

In single-pane mode, it displays only the last pane viewed, with no title or
menu bar.
