task bar

usually i have been able to keep several programs running on the bottom
taskbar. now when i go to the internet to get one of my others started, it
overrides the previous one on the bottom. this makes it very unhandy as you
can't keep looking back and forth at the programs. it use to work, what has
happened. can you help. is it just a matter of something needed to be set
again. debbie

Why do you have to "go to the internet to get one of my others started"?

Try this...
Right click the Taskbar | Properties | Taskbar tab |
UNCheck Group similar taskbar buttons | Apply |
OK

Group similar taskbar buttons
[[Displays taskbar buttons for files opened by the same program in the same
area of the taskbar. In addition, if the taskbar becomes so crowded with
buttons that the width of the buttons shrinks beyond a certain width, then
the buttons for the same program are collapsed into a single button.
Clicking the button lets you access the document you want. Right-clicking
the button lets you close all the documents you want.]]
