task bar

please help a new computer user _ i have somehow doubled the size of my task bar and can't figure out how to fix it . it takes up a lot of my screen space. task bar gets bigger the more i click and drag the mouse. anybody

Rt-click on the Taskbar, make sure 'Lock the Taskbar' is unchecked.
Move the mouse cursor to the top of the taskbar until you see a
double-headed arrow, left-click and hold the mouse button down & drag the
toolbar back down.
Then re-check 'Lock the Taskbar'

All bars must be adjacant to each other left and right. none adjacent top bottom.
