First time here, stumbled upon this site in search for some help.

What I want to know, or find out is..

I am the Telecom Admin for our company, and I have an Avaya IP Office system. I have installed TAPI on my machine to give me the ability to dial from my outlook contacts. One of the things I THOUGHT I would be able to do, I haven't be able to.

We are using Active Directory, and when I receive an email from a co-worker, I can right click on their name and it gives me the option to Call. When I mouse over the Call option, it shows the phone number for the user, and when I click on the number to call it, I get the following message.

"There may be a problem with your instant messaging configuration. Make sure your instant messaging application is installed and running."

Is right clicking on an address field in an email and clicking dial THAT much different than right clicking a contact in your contacts folder?
