Talking over a network

I have a network at home abnd play a "few" games with my kids. I am trying
to find a solution to being able to talk to my kids over the network while we
are playing a game. The PCs are in different rooms and being able to talk
would be great. The network is not wireless.
Can anyone help?

- Use Skype (uses internet bandwidth)
- Use Windows Live Messenger voice function (uses internet bandwidth)
- Use Team Speak http://www.goteamspeak.com/ (requires server/client setup)
