Hi all,
I had created a image and deployed with CF to Target Machine..
Now as i connected my machine in workgroup it boots up quickly.
But if i enter in our domain and boot the machine it took almost 10 to
15mins to open explorer Shell, if it would have happened for only the 1st
time than i would have understood but everytime it takes 10mins atleast to
boot to explorer shell. Why so..Can any one suggest me solution.
Above all when i use some images on DOM's than only 1st time it takes time
of about 10-15mins. but the next time it boots quickly.
Most of the time the Window shows the message box..."Applying your personal
Setting"

Is this an SP1 image with MUI? There was a bug years ago with MUI SP1 images
that caused domain logon to take several minutes. It was due to missing MUI
files in the image that TD was not copying into the runtime. You may find
the details and QFE number for the fix in the newsgroup archives and the
Download center for XPe patches. But again, this was just SP1, should have
been rolled up into the fixes for SP2.

Hello Andy...
I dont understand your reply..Let me tell you what i had done.
I was having Windows XP Embedded SP1 tool ..and i had updated it to SP2.
This is all,Later i had created a no. of images on it. But everytime if i
made my image to boot in a workgroup...Its getting up fast.
But in case I am adding it to a domain, then it takes almost 10-15 mins to
boot to explorer shell. Now regarding MUI i dont know much, but I am taking
English Language Support and for its dependency its adding "English MUI
Resource" component. But i saw if this component is not adding any file to my
Image.
So is it the problem you are suggesting.
Please clarify me.
Thanks in Advance

Hello Andy,..

I saw the link you told its the QFE 824055, and its not covering English
language.
So i dont think its the issue creator. What do you think

Hi Amit,
In your subject line you say "N/W", is this netware? I'm not too familiar
with Netware but it is supported on XPe, is there anything in the relnotes
for SP1 and SP2 related to Netware that can help you?

Also, check your FBALOG in .\windows\fba\fbalog.txt and in setupapi.log at
..\windows to see if there are any hints as to what's causing your issue.

You can also check your Event Log to see if there are associated errors or
warnings around the login time related to your symptoms that might assist
you.

Lastly, are there any indications of the failure on the server side? When
there's a long delay at login to a domain, assuming it's not related to the
domain or ADS, this has historically been due to a hard timeout in the
windows client domain participation feature due to a missing file. But since
you said this is English only, I can only guess that you've inadvertently
disabled a component you should not have, or the server for the domain
authentication or ADS is expecting the client to be a specific language that
you've not added to the client (based on that QFE i mentioned before having
the exact same symptoms).

Take care.
