system32\ntoskrnl.exe deleted with Windows XT update

My system won't start after Windows XT Update download.
I get an error message stating "system32\ntoskrnl.exe is
missing or deleted". I see there is a Worm that will do
this. I have the latest McAfee virus protection. I
can't access my computer. Don't want to do a system
restore, will loose hard drive important documents. Is
there a way to get system32\ntoskrnl.exe back into my
windows root?
