OE = Original Equipment (came with the computer, i.e Compaq, Gateway, etc.)
PCI = Peripheral Component Interconnect (aftermarket PCI cards that you plug
into your mb's PCI slot.)
No sound can be caused by oh so many things, from the simple (your volume is
muted) to the complex (IRQ conflicts), and everything in-between either
software or hardware related. Did they once work? Is your audio XP
compatible? Some system info and a chronology of events leading up to the
problem would be helpful.
