It is as good as some paid versions. I have had it for as long as I can remember and I am not worried about a thing. Some may be paranoid and do not trust it but those folks are few and far between really. Don't worry too much, just enjoy using your PC

Used Windows Defender for years . Which Magazine suggested it was as good, if not better, than most of the paid for alternatives.

I've also used Defender for years without any issues.
