System Tray Icon

I successfully installed Defender yesterday, but when I booted up today, the
Defender icon no longer shows in the System Tray. Why is this? Do I have to
go via Start, Programs, every time I boot up?
 
i also had the same question in mind until i noticed that the icon only
appears when it is giving some NOTICE or WARNING like if there are changes in
our startups... quite unobstrusive, really.

Microsoft has said they will allow for the optional display of the icon even
when no action is needed, in a later version of the beta.
