System Rocovery

I had to perform "system recovery" on my PC and now all my files I had on are
gone. Is there any way that I can get those back from the hard drive?

Quite simply no. you should have backed up your hard disk before you carried
out the system recovery - as it would have clearly instructed on the recovery
cd screen!

Unless some other "wizz" knows better I would say unfortunately you are up
"sh*t creek wth out a paddle" and the files are gone.
