system restore?

i am trying to upgrade to wmp series 9 and amm being told that my system
restore is switched off so i am unable to continue with the download? what
does this mean ??

Right click on the My Computer icone on the desktop > Properties > System
Restore > uncheck the "Turn off System Restore on all drives" box > re-boot
and then try upgrading.
