When I try to restore Windows XP Home, I am prompted for
an administrator password. Does anyone know what the
password should be? Would appreciate any info. Thanks

Hi

Try leaving the password pane blank and press Enter. By default the Admin password in XP home is left blank.

Greetings --

Whenever WinXP is installed on a computer, two user accounts are
automatically created: Administrator and Guest. By default, the Guest
account is disabled, and isn't pertinent now, in any case. During the
installation, WinXP Pro will ask the installer to designate the
Administrator's password, but WinXP Home will not do so. By default,
the Administrator's password is blank.

Greetings --

I don't see any mistake, Will. Why do you ask? We both said
essentially the same thing; I was just more long-winded about it.

Hi Bruce

Did I make a mistake in my posting in this thread? I'd like to know,
so that I don't make the same error again.

Will

My fault, Bruce. Please disregard that posting. I managed to mis-read several messages yesterday.
