System Restore

On a Windows XP Pro SP2, I’m having three issues, mostly with IE7 they may or
may not be related.
First in IE, “Windows Live†if we place our mouse in the search bar, we
cannot type or cannot use the mouse keys. (Works fine in Word), this worked
fine yesterday.
Second we tried to go to system restore however when it says “click on a
bold date on this calendar†there is only one calendar and no dates, bold or
not (no restore points listed). System restore is turned on.
Third in IE I tried to look at Internet options, error message said
“restrictedâ€, contact your administrator; I’m the administrator and only
user.
Looking for some ideas, Thanks

Close IE.
Open Regedit.
Find the value NoBrowserOptions and remove every instance of it.
It is most likely (but not necessarily) to be here:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Restrictions

You might try this from Mike Burgess first if you use SpyBot:
'Did you by chance run SpyBot's Immunize feature?
If so, you can unlock by unchecking the option to "Protect IE Control
Panel".
See http://forums.spywareinfo.com/index.php?showtopic=6748

AdAware, MS Anti-Spyware and other anti-spyware and anti-virus programs may
have similar options.
