system restore

My system restore wont restore.I goes through all the
motions but after rebooting it has an error box saying
Restoration Incomplete.No changes have been made to your
computer etc etc.Can anyone help me please.

Restore is not reliable program. If you're using as a
back-up you should consider something else.


You can turn it off from Control Panel > System > and
then> re-boot and it will purge it's file. Then re-boot,
turn> it back on.

And try this if the above does not work.

1. Put the in the Windows XP CD
2. Click Start , Run
3. Type the following then OK

rundll32.exe advpack.dll,LaunchINFSection
C:\Windows\Inf\sr.inf


You can also open Windows Explorer, go to
C:\Windows\Inf folder and right-click sr.inf (Then
Install)

Have you set up your PC to set restore points? If not it will have nothing to restore to.
