System Restore

I had a user call in from a remote site telling me when he
is in one program, the PC locks up and the screen goes
blank. It then automatically reboots and does a system
restore without him doing anything. Then the cycle starts
over again.

Any ideas as to why the following is happening:

1. Why it is locking up and automatically rebooting?

2. Why is system restore automatically doing a restore?

3. Where can this automatic restore be turned off so it
doesn't happen again without us controlling it? I don't
want to turn off system restore in "System Properties".

TIA

Nathan

Has your user done a virus scan? That may be worth a try
as viruses do get into system restore.
If the sacn is clear a suggetion would be to turn off
System Restore in System properties - i don't think there
is an automatic stop for SR - and reboot his computer.
This will clear out all restore points giving them a
clean start.
