System Restore

Can anyone tell me why System Restore does not work? I have lost an Excel
File and am trying to recover it with System Restore. File Recovery doesn't
show anything missing.

I have selected 3 different days (in Bold font) in the last month and none
of them work.

System Restore will not recover Excel files. It will only recover critical
system files.

It does work, but you are misinterpreting what it's supposed to do. System
Restore is not a general purpose backup program. It can only restore the
operating system, and does nothing for your data files.

Hi Bernie,

System Restore monitors and restores a core set of system and
application files along with most of the registry. User data such as
documents, e-mail, browsing history, favorites are not monitored or
restored.

I am assuming you checked the recycle bin for the missing files. The
following utility can be used to restore files that have been removed
from the recycle bin.

When you attempted to restore did System Restore function? If not please
post any error messages received.
