System restore shows only one restore point

Whenever I go to system restore, it has only one restore point I can select.
That is the last time I booted the computer. I have 9GB on my hard drive,
so space isn't an issue. Why isn't system restore enabling any dates on the
calendar besides the current day for restores?

IMO Basics first:

By "system restore" you mean the function located in System Tools,
System Restore, right? The phrase sometimes means something else to
some cases.

Neglecting the 9 Gig for a moment, what % of the drive is free space?
If it is not greater than 15%, then you may be having drive space
problems. Although 9 Gig sounds like a lot of room, other factors might
be laying claim to that 9 Gig, leaving only enough room for one restore
point.

If you manually create a System Restore Point does it get added or
replace the previous contents?

Another possibility is that the space allotment for System Restore has
been set to such a low point that only one point will fit within that
allotment. I think the default allotment is around ten percent of total
disk spcae.
Several things have such allotted space that isn't shown as used
unless it is specifically used and not just available but allotted.

Assuming disk free space to be around the 15% point, try to cleanup/move
things around until you get it up around 25% and try creating another
restore point or two and see if they "stick" around through a Restart.

If you can't pin it down to something suggested here, post back; there
are ways to recreate the System Restore Point function and reinstall it.

HTH,

Twayne
