Unfortunately when I scanned my system for errors I disabled System Restore,
so have no dates earlier than yesterday (12.11.05). I tried restoring it
twice on Friday, but is couldn't do it.

Do a System File Checker for corrupt and/or missing files.
Start>Run>type CMD and press OK
At the blinking cursor type SFC /SCANNOW (space between C and /)
press Enter. Have your WindowsXP installation CD ready to insert for
it may ask for it.

Hi,

Disabling System Restore deletes all existing restore points and there's
no way of retrieving them. Enabling System Restore automatically creates
a restore point.

So, what your saying is you disabled Systemn Restore, which made it
"forget" all restor points, now you want some one to get them back for
you... I don’t think thats going to happen, especily since lost
restor points would requier data recovary experts to get back the
deleted files.
