system restore

my daugther downloaded from a site that said could help
with xp repair well she downloaded what she thought would
help with the problem and now we have no system restore
we keep getting a balloon message saying that file is
waiting to be written on CD and I found the system
restore and system log on the musicmatch jukebox I have
tried almost everything I can think of and its been of no
use I am no longer able to access the system restore,also
I have several viruses on the AVG vault. Can this be a
Command prompt error can I change the regedit so that I
can get my restore back? Please HELP!!
