"System Restore" will not launch

After selecting,
"Start>Help and Support>Undo changes to your computer
with SYSTEM RESTORE",
up pops a window titled, "rstrui.exe - Entry Point not
Found". The text of the pop-up window is, "The
procedure entry point
RemoteAssistancePrepareSystemRestore could not be located
in the dynamic link library WINSTA.DLL." Below the
text there is an "OK" button.
When I press the "OK" button, the System Restore feature
does not launch.
I checked and I do have a file "winsta.dll" in my
C:\WINDOWS\system32 folder. What do I do to get System
Restore to launch??? Any help would be most grateful.
Thanks.

You can turn it off from Control Panel > System > and
then
re-boot and it will purge it's file. Then re-boot, turn
it
back on.
And try this if the above does not work.

1. Put the in the Windows XP CD
2. Click Start , Run
3. Type the following then OK

rundll32.exe advpack.dll,LaunchINFSection
C:\Windows\Inf\sr.inf

You can also open Windows Explorer, go to
C:\Windows\Inf folder and right-click sr.inf (Then
Install)

Thanks for your advise, Willit. I will try your
suggestions. If I run into problems, I'll post them.

Thanks again.
