system restore problems

i have norton anti-virus, and apparently it has found and
quaranteened the W32.Spybot.Worm. however it can not be
cleaned or deleted. I am trying to run norton in safe
mode and I know I have to turn system restore off.
However when I click the my computer properties, I get a
message that the application has failed to start because
framedyn.dll was not found. I can then click ok, but the
system restore tab is not there. Any help on how to fix
this and get rid of the worm??

Hi Jason,

Start/run services.msc, double-click the SR service and disable it. Once
you've finished cleaning, just reverse the steps to reenable it.

It is not necessary to do so. The copy of the virus in a restore point
can do no harm unless you restore to that point. Wait a day or two for
a new point to have been made, then go to Start - All Programs -
Accessories - System Tools - Disk Cleanup, and clean C: - in More
Options click the button to delete all but the most recent restore
point, and the affected one will be gone
