SYSTEM RESTORE-- PLEASE HELP ME

A PARANOID EX-BOYFRIEND DID A SYSTEM RESTORE TO MY COMPUTER. I WANT TO BE
ABLE TO CREATE A DATE MYSELF SO I CAN GET BACK ALL OF MY PICTURES AND MY
MUSIC ETC PLEASE HELP ME HOW DO I RESTORE THIS MYSELF

Please turn Caps Lock off - it makes the messages difficult to read. System
Restore doesn't touch data files, so your picture and music files should
still be where they were.

Hmmm, a "system restore"?

The System Restore component of WindowsXP doesn't touch your data
files - all it does is restore the computer to a state it was at the
restore date - i.e. which programs were installed and their
settings/state.

However, if you mean a system restore as in (re)installtion of
Windows, then that is another thing ... a totally different situation
and not always promising.

I would guess he has deleted the files you mention...have a look and see if
they are in the re cycle bin. System restore wont help with these type of
files!!
