I cannot get my system restore to function. Also whenever I attempt to open
Windows Explorer I can only access My Documents!!
Can anyone help?

Bill

Check system restore settings.

Right click on My Computer
Click Properties
Click the System Restore tab
Make sure that the "Turn off System Restore On All Drives" is not checked.
Hope this helps...

Hi Bill,

Log onto an administrator account.
Go to Start Run and paste the following command, then press enter.

%systemroot%\system32\restore\rstrui.exe

What happens when you open the System Restore dialog?

same as bill i can not get my system restore to function..please help

One way to disable the System Restore function is to Disable the Services in
the System Configuration Utility. This can be cured by enabling it as
follows:

START
RUN: msconfig
System Configuration Utility
Services
Enable All

After you do all this you have to wait on day before new Restore Points are
established. Let me know if this does anything or this whole spiel is too
primitive or useless for your problem, and we can then think of something
else.
