System Restore not restoring

Hello,

I have been having problems with System Restore. Whichever checkpoint I choose to restore to System restore always states ' No changes have been made. I am using Windows XP platform. Please help. Thank you.
 
Why do you want to restore? I've never been a fan of it myself.
