System restore & msconfig

I am running XP Pro, unable to access msconfig or sys restore, it says I may
not be signed on as Admin which I am, any ideas, looks like virus??

Use the command net localgroup administrators to see if you are indeed in
the local administrators group or not. If you are indeed and administrator
but still can not access it if you can open the command prompt use the AT
command to try and open those programs as system by scheduling the command
to run two minutes in the future. For msconfig try AT 19:22 /interactive
d:\windows\pchealth\helpctr\binaries\msconfig.exe if the time was 7:20 PM
for instance. For system restore use AT 19:22 /interactive
d:\windows\system32\restore\rstrui.exe . To try and reset security settings
to default defined levels try at 19:22 /interactive secedit /configure /cfg
%windir%\repair\secsetup.inf /db secsetup.sdb /verbose . --- Steve
