Using msconfig

On XP PRO SP2

I am logged on as administrator, I sometimes use the msconfig to turn off
certain startup programs, this was working fine. Presently, I am able to
open the msconfig program, and able to make changes to the programs I want
to startup, however when I click on apply, or ok, it says access denied, you
must be an administrator. I am, what happened? Then I click on restart,
re-log on and the changes were made. Why does that message come up? How do
I get rid of it?

Thanks,
Mark

Hi, never mind, I found the answer. It has to do with a conflict with a HP
entry in the registry. For those who have the same problem, just do a web
search like I did, using msconfig access denied and you should be able to
find the fix. Should of done the search first, but...
