System Restore Incomplete

When I try to restore my OS to an earlier date I get a restoration
imcomplete. No matter what date and how far I go back I keep getting this
error message. Anybody have any clues? TIA.

If you have installed SP1 or 1a then the previous restore point may not be
valid, if you think that is the case then all you can do is turn off system
restore to clear it out then turn it back on again.

system restore was a great idea, but i think even microsoft advises people
to turn that feature off...

I was never able to get it to work like you would think it would.

imho = rebuild.
