Windows XP system restore disappeared

Can anyone help with a problem. i have tried to do a system restore, because i deleted something accidently. the page to restore comes up but it remains blank, i have left it for some time but there is no text at all. Can anything be done, i had reinstalled xp a couple of weeks ago, and this is the first time i have had the need to use it since. I would be gratefull for any help

Muckshifter, I checked registry, and far as i can make out all ok which means squat with my experience.but I did follow directions.Tried to access restore through help and got this error.
