system restarts on shutdown - help

you might try this - ie
go start/right click - my computer/properties/
go - advanced tab/startup and recovery section/
go - settings/system failure section/
go - deselect - automatically restart/ go ok/
go apply/
and take it fr there

Thanks for your response. I had found this suggestion in
a microsoft support article and did make the change,
however, it did not make any difference to my system (no
blue screen error message appeared and still restarted).
The really odd thing to me is that the second shutdown
does work. Could it be that some program I'm running
during the day but don't run before the second shutdown
is doing something weird to my computer? Thanks again
for your assistance.
