system recovery

hello everyone, i REALLY need some help here. i'm working
on a hp pavilion 304w. it crashed. i've not had any luck
at hp's help site. the first message i get says "no
operating system installed or partition corrupted. press r
to perform a full system recovery." if i press any other
key such as f8, or try to scan disk or fdisk, the computer
restarts. i have recovery disks, but the computer freezes
on the screen that says "starting hp pc system
recovery...". the same thing happens when i try to boot
from the hard disk also. if anyone can help, it would be
most appreciated. thanks, william.

to restore your PC to its original factory condition. Please read and follow these
