System process use 100% CPU?

Hi, All,

I installed XP Pro on this laptop for a week. From time to time, laptop will
freeze. When I check the CPU usage, I find "System" process use almost 100%.
Someone on the internet said that this could be because of too hot CPU. But
I used Windows 2000 on this laptop for 2 years, never met this "hot CPU".

Any suggestion?

Are you sure it doesn't say "System Idle Process"
If so, this is a measurement of how much you CPU is *not* using.
