System Mechanic Error

I keep getting the following error when I run System Mechanic defrag on Win 2000 Pro. However, I do not get the error when I run it on Win 2000 Standard. I think it has got to do with me not logging on as Administrator. The IT folk at work will not log me on as Administrator. Please help! The message is:

System Mechanic encountered a problem when attempting to defragment the current drive C:.
This usually indicated physical corruption in the disk surface, or other such structural issues. A thorough Scandisk operation is recommended ...

......however, Scandisk doesn't show any errors. Also, 3rd party defraggers like Diskeeper seem to work. Please help!

Thanks in advance,
Arshad

Nothing to do with the operating system. Ask the application developer.
