I bought a new sony system from a store. When I started it for the first time and started the set-up it got to a screen that said please wait. The hard drive was not running and nothing happened for a long time. After 15 or 20 min I turned it off. It would not restart after this. How long does it take to start a new computer with xp? Is this common? After tech support could not restart it I took it back to the store. I need a new computer and would like to know what to do with the next one.

Well mine boots to the desktop in less than 30 seconds. The fact yours is
new is irrelevant.

May I suggest using it as a piece of modern art - or a novely planter,
perhaps. Seriously though, I don't know what you mean by "do with the next
one". Just cable it up, plug it in and switch on.
