System keeps rebooting after SP2 install

I downloaded and installed SP2 a couple of days ago.
After installing and rebooting as instructed, my computer
loads just fine to the login page. Then, about 1 minute
after I login to any of the accounts, it goes into a
reboot cycle that continues endlessly until I shut the
computer off. I was able to get into msconfig quickly
and I then tried restarting with various items unchecked
under the "selective startup" option. I found that I
could get the system to stop the reboot cycle will all
items selected except "load system services". As sson as
I would check that in combination with any other boxes
checked or aolone it would start agian. However when I
used it w/o that box checked I could not access the
internet or many other Windows XP services; i.e. help and
support, items in the control panel. etc. I finally just
tried uninstalling SP2 and now it is working fine again.
Has anyone else experienced the reboot problem after
installing it? Any suggestions on getting around it?

Hi!

I think that the issue may be due to a third-party kernel driver or system
service that is not SP2 compatible. What information do you have on screen
after a reboot?

ps: you can also try by disabling one by one the third-party
services/drivers till you find the _one_

cheers,
