Jim

I have XP Home Edition and I installed the latest updates
from Microsoft this past weekend. The system is extremely
slow. It takes like 20 to 30 minutes to boot. 20 to 30
minutes to log in. It takes like 20 minutes to open Add /
Remove programs, System manager, Services etc. I cannot
uninstall the updates because it says the system has timed
out. It does the same in Safe Mode. Does anyone have any
idea why this is happeing and a resolution or is just safe
to say reinstall everything!!!

Thanks
Jim

The first thing I would do is a virus scan find an online one
then run spybot or adware
then run checkdisk
then run defrag

how much hard drive space is left

Ctrl Alt Del
is your processes running 100% if so spybot should find it if the AV didn't

Just some thoughts

Hi Jim

Which Updates do you class as 'the latest'? ATM there are no problems with any Hotfixes. With reference to the 'last installed' Hotfixes, we may be able to help you.
