System Interrupt Controller

I have recently upgraded my motherboard, CPU and memory and did a
cleanWindows install.Went better then I expected with a couple of problems
that I solved but one that has me stumped.

I have gotten some stop errors with no regularity and not enough to prevent
use of the PC. I looked at the event viewer log and must admit that I don't
understand how to interpret what is in there. I do go to KB and read what
the errors mean like one said that the ACPI BIOS in the system was no
compliant with the ACPI specification, so I updated my BIOS which was three
versions old already. Anyhow along with that message was one about Command
Anti-Virus, that I don't have installed, but anyhow..

I noticed after I got my PC up and running, that there was an entry in
Device Manager with the infamous yellow ? under "Other Devices" System
Interrupt Controller and USB Universal Serial Bus Controller. I fixed the
USB thing by updating USB drivers with VIA 2.0 USB software and it went
away. I know nothing about System Interrupt Controllers. Don't know why it's
there and don't know how to solve this. Google wasn't much help. I did not
update my new motherboard driver

The other issue has to do with Service Control. Again, in event viewer I see
two errors on bootup They both have to do with Infrared Montior service and
the fact that the service failed to load because the file could not be
found..well, I have not infrared devices nor do I intend to acquire any. Is
there a fix for this?

Thank you

Sir: You are a God.....For some reason, I thought that the drivers on the
disk were for Via SATA and HOT Plug functions only.

I guess not, because driver package install removed the System Interrupt
Controller message. I have been at this for days. What a dummy. Thanks
again.

You always have to do this with a new install, and it isn't a bad idea after
a repair install. Don't lose that disk!
