I am running XP service pack 2. When I launce System Information, I get the
following error message:

Can't collect information

Cannot access the windows management instrumentation software. Windows
management files may have been moved or are missing.

How can I restore these files. I have done all the Windows updates to date.

Thanks Will

Go to Start > Run and type: services.msc , and hit enter.
Scroll down to "Windows Management Instrumentation",
right-click on this service and select
Properties > Startup type > Automatic, then Start the service.
