Hi,

Looks like you have a corrupted "System properties" applet in the control
panel. Please try Step 1 or Step 2 to open the applet without going to the
control panel. Then try Step 3 to repair the applet and other system
damaged files.

STEP 1:
=======
1. Click Start -> Run
2. Type "RUNDLL32 SHELL32.DLL,Control_RunDLL sysdm.CPL,@0,0" (without
quotes)
3. This should open the System Properties window
4. If this method does not open please proceed to the next step.

STEP 2:
=======
1. Click Start -> Run
2. Type "sysdm.cpl" (without quotes)
3. This should open the System Properties window
4. If this method does not open please proceed to the next step.

STEP 3:
=======
This procedure works only if you have retail copy of Windows XP and not the
recovery disk. So, please have your copy of Windows XP Cd-rom in the Cd
drive.

1. Click Start ->Run.
2. Type "sfc /scannow" (without quotes) (Note: There is a space between sfc
and /scannow)
3. Click the OK button.
4. Follow the prompts throughout the System File Checker process.
5. Reboot the computer when System File Checker completes.

Other than that you may want to post the exact error message from the event
log (Start/Run/eventvwr.msc).

Hope this helps ...... :)
