System Idle Process

My system idle process stays at 98-99% when trying to
install software. All other functions are working
properly. I've tried this installation several times -
same result. Ran virus scan; defrag; sfc; searched the
registry and removed items related to this software
nothing seems to work. Any ideas?????

System Idle Process is exactly what it sounds like.
It is the % of processing power you have waiting for something to do,
doing nothing.

If you are having problems, this is not the cause.

Your computer is functioning correctly. As the name explains, system idle
process means that your CPU is idle.
