System File Checker / SourcePath Problem

I once purchased a PC with XP Pro on it already. No Windows CD. Then
I got a message which said my copy of Windows was not genuine. So, I
bought, from Microsoft, a genuine copy and did a repair installation. I
run System File Checker once in a while but can't do it anymore. I get
a message which says "Windows File Protection" - Files that are
required for Windows to run properly must be copied to the DLL Cache.
There is a button which reads "More Information." Clicking on the
button shows a message which suggests that, because I don't have the
original CD which put XP Pro on my system, that SFC won't work. Does
anyone know how to fix this? I have my I386 folder in the root
directory and SourcePath is equal to C:\ Thanks.

Why would one do a "repair" on the past xp OS,a clean install would be
benificial....Either way,go to run,type:regedit In
regedit,expand,HKEY_LOCAL_
MACHINE/software/microsoft/windows/setup/open sourcepath.Locate the
text(s) with youre cdrom,L.click on 1 of them,go to edit,modify,change the
letter to the same as it is in my computer,do for all (usually 2),close out
regedit...
