System Event Logs appear blank

Has anyone seen this before on a Windows 2000 Server? I
have recenlty rolled out SP4 (oh no!!) to our Win2k
servers. Since then it sometimes you cannot see anything
in the System log, even though there is obviously stuff in
there and you can click on the "blank" lines.
